Location: Honolulu, HI

Experience the best of both worlds with our Soba and Curry Kit, a culinary masterpiece that combines the richness of Hiroo no curry with the authenticity of traditional buckwheat soba noodles. Each kit includes everything you need for a memorable dining experience: steamy soba noodles, flavorful dipping sauce, fresh Japanese green onions, zesty wasabi, fragrant curry, rice, tender oxtail meat, and a medley of cabbage and pickled veggies. It's a feast fit for any occasion!

Ingredients:

Shingen Soba:

  • Uncooked soba noodles
  • Original dipping sauce
  • Japanese green onion
  • Wasabi

Hiro no Curry:

  • Curry
  • Rice
  • Oxtail meat
  • Sliced cabbage
  • Vegetables pickled in rich soy sauce (Fukujin-Duke)

Instructions:

Shingen Soba:

  1. Boil the buckwheat noodles in boiling water for 2 minutes, then rinse them in ice water to firm them up.
  2. Add green onion and wasabi to the dipping sauce according to your taste preference, and enjoy while the noodles are still cold.

Hiro no Curry:

  1. Transfer the oxtail to a bowl, fill it with enough hot water to soak, and heat it in the microwave for 2 minutes. Then remove the oxtail and sear it lightly in a pan. (Do not discard the rest of the hot water.)
  2. Dissolve the curry roux in hot water and heat it in a saucepan. Then add 50 cc to 80 cc of hot water left over from the oxtail to smooth the roux. Smooth the roux to the desired degree of smoothness.
  3. Open the lid slightly and heat the rice in the microwave for 1 minute.
  4. Place the rice on a plate, pour the curry roux over the rice, and garnish with the oxtail. Then top with cabbage and Fukujinduke to complete the dish.
