Country : Japan
State : Fukushima
First established in 1700, Asakanoyaki produces a wide range of tableware suitable for Japanese and Western styles. The kiln was re-established in Koriyama City after the 2011 Fukushima nuclear disaster, taking on its current name after moving. Asakano-gama is spearheading a new genre of handicrafts to create new beauty in ceramics. To meet customers’ demands for finding new looks, they continuously collaborate with craftsmen working in other areas of Japan and introduce new techniques. The porcelain clay used in Asakano-gama products is mainly mined in Fukushima; the clay from other Japanese areas is used flexibly when it is necessary to create their ideal ceramics. Umami Square introduces a set of a Sake pitcher and cups, a wine cup, and a tumbler. The concept of this series is turning your dining room into a luxury restaurant.
