FromATOBUGAMA
These leaf shaped bowls are hand-shaped without using molds. Each plate features a unique pattern, “Botamochi” (a rice cake covered with sweet bean paste) or “Goma” (sesame seeds) patterns that are developed during the firing process in the climbing kiln. “Goma” is created by charcoal ashes from pine branches melted in the high heat and later serve as glaze. The plates are made to have slightly raised edges that are ideal to serve dishes with sauces or dressing such as pastas and salads.
