Experience the authentic taste of Kagoshima Tonkotsu Ramen, meticulously crafted by Menya Jiro, a beacon of Japanese culinary excellence nestled in Queens, NY. Our signature ramen seamlessly blends pork tonkatsu and chicken broths, enriched with soy sauce and other premium seasonings directly imported from Kagoshima. Each bowl is a masterpiece of balance, brimming with umami-packed flavors, springy handmade noodles, and succulent slices of slow-roasted chashu pork, delivering a taste sensation that embodies the essence of Japanese comfort food.

Ingredients:

  • Broth: Pork, Chicken
  • Ramen Base: Garlic, Ginger, Salt, Sugar, Glutamic Acid, Soy Sauce, Mirin
  • Noodle: Flour, Carbonated Water, Salt
  • Bean Sprout
  • Scallion
  • Braised Pork Belly
  • Lard (Rich)
  • Chashu Sauce

Instructions/Storage:

  • Kit ships frozen with ice packs
  • May thaw in transit
  • Upon arrival, remove packaging and place immediately in the fridge (or Freezer)
  • May be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 days for vegetables and chashu and 1 week for noodles
  • May be frozen immediately upon arrival for up to 1 month

To Serve:

  1. Defrost and Heat Broth: Place sealed bags in a bowl of boiling hot water until broth boils. Set aside.
  2. Cook Noodles: Bring a pot of 20 ounces of water to a rolling boil, add noodles, and cook for approximately 2 minutes. Strain and set aside.
  3. Prepare Toppings: Open bags of heated broth, Chashu sauce, and spicy lard. Pour into separate serving bowls. Use scissors to cut the pouches and pour them into serving bowls. Caution: "Please be careful, pouch is very hot."
  4. Microwave Pork Belly: Heat for 30 seconds.
  5. Assemble Ramen: Add noodles, pork belly, and fried garlic to the bowl. Top with bean sprouts and scallions.
